Splinternet is also known as cyber-balkanization by many. As per Wikipedia, “It is a characterization of the Internet as splintering and dividing due to various factors, such as technology, commerce, politics, nationalism, religion, and divergent national interests.”
Is not this an interesting thought that the world would no more have just physical borders and borders due to race, culture, and religion, but even the internet will also now define geographies and communities.
