On December 1, 1946, Paula Jean Welden told her roommate at Bennington College that she was heading out for a long walk. However, she never returned from her walk.
A search party was sent out in the direction she was last seen, but no one could find her.
From her father to a man she supposedly liked, the list of suspects grew, but she or her remains were never found.
After a series of investigations, it was found that she never even returned home for Thanksgiving.
