24. Haise’s Future Missions
One of the crew members Fred Haise got a thrilling opportunity to command the Apollo 19 mission to the moon, but unfortunately it seemed like the mission itself was a jinxed one. The Apollo 19 mission never took place because of huge budget cuts at NASA.
However,he did get to sit in the commander seat for the Enterprise space shuttle during test flights and continued to play a key role in the space shuttle program at NASA. After resigning from NASA in 1979, he became vice president of space programs at the Grumman Aerospace Corp.
