19. They Were Off By A Few Thousand Miles
When the Odyssey could no longer be relied on to get the astronauts safely to the moon, the only other option was to somehow get them home alive. Yet,according to the scientists at NASA, the Odyssey itself was not on a flight path that could have ensured that the astronauts reached home safely and quickly.
They were set to miss Earth by 2,500 miles and this meant that the landing engines of the Aquarius had to be fired appropriately so that they could be steered in the right direction.
