16. The Astronauts Stayed Hungry

The astronauts had packed enough food to last them till the mission ended. However,when they were forced to conserve power, the food became inedible. Back here on Earth, the flight director Gene Kranz did try to juggle the power and preserve food but that didn’t help.

The astronauts had to ration the edible food and water supply between them. It’s amazing to note that the three of them were in space for just four days and yet they lost ample weight between them,by the time they landed.
