#9 Colonisation Of Blowflies And Flesh Flies
Once the body undergoes purging during decomposition, it becomes a host to microbes and insects. Out of all the scavengers, two of the most prominent ones are blowflies and flesh flies.
The corpse releases a pungent scent that attracts these parasites, which lay their eggs in open wounds and orifices. Once hatched, the eggs turn into maggots and feast on the rotting flesh. Scary, but that’s how nature is!
