#18 The Body Enters Into A State Of Putrefaction
After death, the body literally eats itself up. The cells start to disintegrate and are absorbed by the enzymes discharged by the bacteria. The rate at which the body decomposes depends on the cause of death.
For instance, in case of death due to sepsis, the molecular breakdown called putrefaction speeds up as the germs have already spread to various parts of the body. The same happens when a person dies of an accidental overdose on methamphetamine and cocaine.
