No one had ever seen a skinless shark swimming freely ever before, so the first instinct of the research team was to check if this sea-faring superstar was a whole new species of fish in the Mediterranean Sea. But very soon, it became pretty clear to them that it was not the case.

This was not a brand new species, but a very strange-looking version of a common type of shark called the blackmouth catshark. Once they realized that, they began comparing the normal blackmouth catsharks to the one they had found, to make a list of all the weird anomalies that set this one apart from all the rest!
