Some dermatologists have an opinion that antiperspirant deodorants are contributors to the increasing risks of cancer, particularly breast cancer. They claim that the antiperspirants penetrate our skin and are absorbed by tissues, escalating further into tumours.

A research conducted on parabens – preservatives added in antiperspirants, cosmetics, and medical products – revealed that they propel the growth of estrogen. It further concluded that parabens are found in breast tumours, however, there is no evidence that parabens can cause breast cancer.
