#29 The Size Your Brain Determines Your Intelligence
Contrary to popular belief, the size of the brain has nothing to do with how intelligent a person is. If we go by this theory, then sperm whales should be the smartest creatures on the planet since they have the largest brain in the animal kingdom.
In fact, even humans do not possess a perfect brain-to-body mass ratio, yet we are at the pinnacle of intelligence. However, it shall be noted that a larger brain size would mean more storage space, but wouldn’t necessarily amount to better memory or sharper cognitive skills.
Having said that, brain size isn’t the only parameter to gauge intelligence. Grey matter volume and cortical thickness are some other vital aspects to be considered while determining intelligence.
