23. People With DID Are NOT Dangerous
As we mentioned earlier, people possess such limited information about mental illness, dissociative identity disorder in particular, that they believe every myth out there. And the media has not really helped the case either. Due to this, there’s a stigma that people with identity disorder or any mental illness for that matter, are too dangerous.
This is far from true. We are not suggesting that a patient with DID is not capable of doing something dangerous, however, assuming that every patient with mental illness must be violent is something that needs to change.
