6. Lucky Pennies
Contrary to all the myths that we have tackled so far, this one is not related to anything evil or bad but only good luck and good fortune. While the idea of finding a penny here and there in your pockets or on the roadside itself is quite appealing, there is more than just being happy about some extra money.
In ancient Roman, English and American cultures, metals held a very pious stature. They were believed to be a vessel for the holy spirit who would protect the possessor of the metals.
But beware: this myth works both ways! Some people believe that if you find a penny lying tails down, then it’s better that you turn it flat and leave it for someone else or you’ll invite bad luck.
