#14 Link, Chain, or Story Method
The link, chain, and story method is used by ‘linking’ words together in order to form a series of pictures and stories in your mind. This technique works great if you’re trying to learn a list of terms. Say for example you’re trying to remember the U.S. states in alphabetical order.
With a little imagination, the story might sound something like this: President Obama (Alabama) asked (Alaska) his friend Ari what time zone (Arizona) he was in – and so on and so forth.
There’s nothing more our brains enjoy more than storytelling and entertainment. This method utilises the power of story to enhance our memory of remembering lists.
