#22 The Cornea Acts as A Sunglass for Your Eyes
The cornea is the eye’s outermost lens. It is a transparent shield covering the front section of the eye that includes pupil (the opening at the centermost), anterior chamber (the liquid in the eye) and the iris (the colourful part of an eye).
It functions like a shutter that manages to refract or bend light. In fact, its contribution to the total focusing power is about 65 to 75 per cent. It not only protects an eye against the regular light, dust and germs, but at the same time, it tries to prevent the UV rays from entering the eyes.
