It’s not possible to constantly monitor a pet. Like other pets, dogs need to move, they cannot be kept cooped up in kennels or houses most of the time.

Although one has to be careful about giving them unrestricted access to the outdoors and indoors. If allowed to go wherever it is that they please to, dogs could bring in some very nasty diseases home.

They are also at risk of getting lost, getting mud all over the house and going to strange places that may or may not be dangerous to them and the family they live with.
