1. What is Active Matter?
In order to start things off, we must speak about what active matter is. This type of matter is composed of large numbers of active particles that move and consume energy in order to use mechanical forces.
These types of movements are all due to thermal equilibrium, and break time-reversal symmetry because of the energy that is always scattered. Some worldly examples of what active matter would look like could be schools of fish or flocks of birds.
Active matter is, in a way, a newer matter, and since its discovery is the most extensively studied space material.
