3. The Space Station is Moving Really Really Fast
The ISS doesn’t just float above the earth in one place. It’s moving super fast at about 17,500 mph (28,000 km/h).
Luckily for the astronauts aboard the ISS, it’s similar to being on an airplane. They don’t feel like their bodies are being hurled around at such high speeds.
But they do need to secure themselves for eating and sleeping. Though a lot of that has to do with weightlessness!
