Located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the city of Moradabad recorded one of the deadliest hailstorms ever recorded. The Guinness World Records mention it as the world’s worst hailstorm disaster in history causing the highest number of deaths.

Many farmers were hit by hailstones, the size of cricket balls plummeting at a speed of 100 mph, and died on the spot due to their hard-hitting impact. Hitting the Indian city on April 30th, 1888 the hailstorm killed 246 people and nearly 1600 animals too, leading to an economic burden on their owners.
