Ukraine Has Most Air Pollution Deaths Per Capita
Annually, more Ukrainians die per capita from air pollution-related health issues than do in any other nation. In 2012, there were 120 PM 2.5 and PM 10-related deaths per every 100,000 inhabitants in the Ukraine. In China, the rate was 76 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants.
China actually came in ninth in per capita deaths. Along with Ukraine, Bulgaria, Belarus, Russia, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, and Hungary all had higher per capita rates.
