#15 Having A Parent Who Had/Has Cancer
In case either or both of your parents have had cancer, you may be at a slightly higher than usual risk of developing it too. Although inherited cancers are rare, it’s possible for the high-risk genetic changes to be passed down from parents to their children.
One such example is the BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation that causes breast cancer in a woman, which could be passed down to her daughter.
