Hot drinks like tea and coffee are part of most people’s everyday routines. In fact, most people can’t start their day without their daily cuppa!
But according to a major study conducted in 2018, piping hot beverages can damage the lining of the esophagus (the food pipe), and put us at the risk of esophageal cancer. So how do we solve this?
Simple, let your drink cool down a bit before you start sipping on it. Most drinks at cafes are served at 140 to 160 Fahrenheit, so cooling it will also prevent a burnt tongue!
