5. Meteorites Are Hot
Yes, meteorites have crash-landed to Earth, but the belief that they are very hot when they hit the ground, isn’t a fact at all. The truth is that meteorites have been in space for billions of years and space as we know it is quite cold after all. It is possible that when they do land on the ground that they are lukewarm to the touch.
In front of a falling meteorite is a fireball which is comprised of compressed air that heats up till it actually catches fire. This gives a meteorite the name ‘falling star’.
