11. How are Distances Measured if Space is Expanding?
When measuring the universe, scientists consider its scale flat. This makes it easier to make measurements and apply formulas to distances in space, on top of applying all the cosmic rules and phenomena.
With different geometrics being used, the universe is said to be relativistic, and cannot be determined with special relativity alone. Sure, models like this do exist, but there are issues in the calculations and some measurements are accurate.
The most common diagrams that are used to measure objects in space are called spacetime diagrams.
