13. Can the Virus Be Spread Through Pets and Animals?
Good news for your pets – there is no evidence that suggests pets can be infected with the new 2019-nCoV coronavirus. Nor is there any evidence yet that the coronavirus can be transmitted between pets and humans. However, it’s generally a good idea to always wash your hands with soap after touching animals, including pets.
Washing your hands after petting animals can protect you from other diseases, including E.coli or Salmonella. Unlike the coronavirus, both of these diseases can be transmitted between pets and humans.
